Thanks for your interest! Podder is a small, open-source podcast auto-archiver, and contributions are welcome.
- For anything beyond a small fix, please open an issue first so we can agree on the approach.
- Podder is deliberately focused on podcasts (RSS) — it is not a general video/YouTube downloader, and it aims to stay lean (few dependencies). Proposals that keep it simple are the most likely to be merged.
See the README. In short:
./gradlew :app:assembleDebug # build
./gradlew testDebugUnitTest # run unit tests- Kotlin, Android Views/XML (no Compose),
minSdk 24. - Prefer platform APIs and existing dependencies over adding new ones.
- Keep pure logic (parsing, diffing, etc.) in small, unit-testable functions — add a test when you add such logic.
- Match the surrounding code; keep diffs focused.
- One change per PR; keep it small and reviewable.
- Make sure
./gradlew testDebugUnitTest assembleDebugpasses. - Describe what you changed and why.
