A nice feature would be to support dropdowns, just as in the WiFi button, this way it'd be possible to have sub-commands inside the main button. This allows integrating optional flags from commands.

Interesting idea. Could you elaborate what your use case is for this and how it should function?

Would there be the usual on/off commands, and then the menu items would just execute a different command?

My personal use case would be for managing Pangolin CLI. Since there are options to log in, selecting an organisation, etc. A dropdown menu would be great. Not necessarily on/off options, but instead trigger pkexec, dialog windows and displaying interactive options. A similar use case is tailscale-gnome-qs.

Yes, let's say I open the dropdown menu for listing available organisations (pangolin CLI pulls this with a command that is available, clicking one would trigger the select org command, and so on).

I believe you can cherry-pick some code from tailscale-gnome-qs or at least some coding ideas.
