I built this. When several Codex sessions run at once, one can sit on an approval prompt in a window you are not looking at. OpusBar puts a pixel cat in the macOS menu bar. It takes the state of the most urgent session: running, thinking, needs you, done, error or idle. A badge counts the sessions waiting.

For Codex:
It handles Claude Code the same way. Free, open source (Apache-2.0), macOS 14 or later.
What would you want a menu bar to show about a Codex session that it does not show today?
