The "Ideas" category of our discussions is a backlog and as such there are no-rules! You can write anything you want
But think of this:
The purpose of the ideas are to serve as foundation for a (future) products, which could be anything: A survey, an Open Source tool, an article, a podcast, a tutorial, a model, a master thesis, a book ...anything goes really! But have in mind that were potentially building a tangible product.
A Product can be seen as an answer to a question, a solution to a problem, a fulfillment of a need. There is a aways a built in relation to something else. A product exists due to it's purpose.
This dualistic relation is the core of problem based didactics, Lean manufacturing, Lean Statups etc.
Headings
Enough with the lectures - there are still no rules, but consider to cover the following topics and headings when you describe the idea in details:
The Problem
– What is the problem? — or the question or the need...
What Are You Hoping to Achieve
— What would a desired outcome be. Describe the desirable state or situation that arises when you problem is solved.
The Products
— There may potentially be many different products that contribute to the solution. The solution could be an entire system of related products: An open source tool, accompanied by an article, and a tutorial, and a keynote speak, and a two day workshop, and a model of how you see the world... Dream big when you describe the products you have in mind, envision an entire system of products.
Who Do You Have in Mind
— Who experience or suffer from the problem, who has the ability to make it go away, who will use or receive the products when they are done.
