Thanks, the preview reads well and the geometry is a faithful port. Checked against head ff0c527e26 and the backend side in Comfy-Org/ComfyUI#16951. A few things worth a look before merging.

A freshly added or never-run CropByBBoxes node has nosourceUrl, so every mount sends an unhandled error to RUM; a 404 on the tempsource_imagesfile after a server restart does the same.useImageQuiet(#12729) exists for exactly this, and this is the only rawuseImagecall left insrc/.
Fix: useuseImageQuiet, ideally skipping the load when there is no URL, and use itserrorref to fall back to the empty state instead of a blank canvas. -
The widget test mocks both composables it wires up, so the backend contract is untested —

WithuseInputImageSourceanduseIncomingBoundingBoxesreplaced by computeds over a hoisted mutable object, these mutations of the.vuefile all pass the suite:'source_images'→'background_images',preferSaved: true→false, anduseIncomingBoundingBoxes(node, 'boxes', 'bboxes'). Relatedly, nothing pins thatuseIncomingBoundingBoxesreturns[]for an empty list: putting back the oldincoming.length &&guard fails no test, and that[]is the only path to "No bounding boxes in the first frame".
Fix: drive the widget through the real composables with a smallLGraphand seedednodeOutputStore(asuseInputImageSource.test.tsalready does), keeping only theuseImage/useElementSize/ renderer mocks; add a short table foruseIncomingBoundingBoxes(connected +[], valid, invalid, disconnected).
Suggestions
- Old boxes drawn on a rewired image. After a run with image A, connecting image B makes
useInputImageSourcefall back to B's upstream preview, butuseIncomingBoundingBoxesstill returns A'sinput_bboxes. The preview then shows A's boxes and crop, clamped to B's size — a crop the next run won't produce. Exposing whether the URL came from the saved frame and hiding the overlay (or showingrunToPreview) when it didn't would fix it. - Stretch-mode reference frame shrinks the preview.
outputSizeFrameis included inpreviewWorld, so a large output size grows the view around it: a 1024² image with a 64² face at output 4096 draws the image at about 73px and the face at under 5px. Fitting the world to image ∪crop.frameand clipping the dashed reference (or showing the size only in the label) would keep the crop readable. Pad mode growing the view is fine since that is real output. - Backend dependency. Against a core without #16951 the node gets a 640px preview that says "Run the workflow to preview the crop" forever. Worth landing after #16951 and the minimum supported core include it, or at least noting it in the release notes.
- Backend early return (for #16951).

createBoundingBoxes.test.tscovers its sibling; a smallcropByBBoxes.test.tsasserting the preview widget stays out ofwidgets_values, is aCropByBBoxesPreviewWidget, and only attaches toCropByBBoxeswould guard the serialization contract. - CodeRabbit thread. The resolved thread on
useInputImageSource.test.tsstill applies at HEAD: the body branches onconnected,previewandsaved(:60,:67,:71).
Nits
input_bboxessendsint(x)andint(width)separately while the crop usesint(x + width), so float boxes preview 1px short. Sendingint(x + w) - int(x)as the width on the backend would line them up.- Pad rows in
cropByBBoxesGeometry.test.tsall have an even remainder, soMath.floor→Math.ceilonpadLeft/padTopsurvives; one odd row (e.g. 100² region, output 513×256) would pin it. drawCropByBBoxesPreview.test.ts"blacks out the padding" doesn't recordfillStyle, so a translucent fill passes.- The output label puts the raw
pad/stretchvalue into an otherwise translated string. imageCrop.noInputImage/imageCrop.cropPreviewAltare borrowed from WidgetImageCrop; own keys would avoid coupling.devicePixelRatioisn't reactive, so moving to another monitor doesn't redraw (useDevicePixelRatio).- Images under 4px give a 0×0 fallback and a NaN pad frame, where the backend outputs a black tile. Practically unreachable.

widgetMap, type union andEXPANDING_TYPESwiring follow the existing preview widgets; no new methods onLGraphNode. - Lane tests pass locally (30/30 plus 21/21 Create Bounding Boxes); CI is green.

Summary
Draws the first frame on a canvas with its detected boxes, the region the node will crop (their union plus padding) and the output content mapped back onto the source: for stretch the crop itself plus a reference frame of the output size centred on it, for pad the crop grown to the output aspect with its black bars. The view grows when a frame extends past the source.
The preview is read-only. Extracts useInputImageSource and useIncomingBoundingBoxes from Create Bounding Boxes for reuse.
