Adds a club-language overview of the live Data Science at Georgia Tech website and member portal. Docs only — no application, route, schema, or deploy-config changes.

What changed

  • New page: docs/club-project.md
  • Linked from docs/README.md and a short Club project section in the root README.md

What the page covers

  • What this repo is for members: public site + portal at datasciencegt.org (not member.datasciencegt.org, which does not resolve)
  • What people actually use: dues (Stripe $25 membership, $10 bootcamp add-on), events, bootcamp, initiatives, admin, Hacklytics interest/registration, and the public home/team/events/projects/history/bootcamp pages
  • Honest Fall 2026 status: live production (Firebase App Hosting / Cloud Run, GCP dsgt-website, Neon); last main activity late August 2026; not a greenfield student app
  • High-level repo layout (sites/mainweb, sites/hacklytics2027, packages/*) with pointers to existing setup docs
  • Older repos not to revive: datascience-gt.github.io and dsgt-member-portal
  • Safe first work streams vs needs-exec-review (payments, auth, prod deploy)
  • How to contribute: branch from dev, PRs against this repo, never commit secrets

Workflow

Opened against dev (integration). main is production.

Point members at a club-language overview of the live site and portal, current Fall 2026 status, safe work streams, and the older repos not to revive.

Greptile Summary

Adds a member-facing overview of the production DS@GT website and portal, linked from both documentation indexes.

  • Describes member features, live URLs, pricing, authentication, and access expectations.
  • Summarizes production infrastructure, repository architecture, and retired predecessor repositories.
  • Documents safe contribution areas, executive-review boundaries, and the dev-to-main workflow.

Confidence Score: 5/5

The documentation-only PR appears safe to merge.

The new links resolve within the documentation tree, and the substantive pricing, authentication, access, architecture, deployment, ownership, and branch-workflow claims checked against the repository are consistent with their implementations and existing documentation.

Important Files Changed

Filename Overview
README.md Adds a concise club-project introduction and links to the new overview and existing contributor documentation.
docs/README.md Adds the club-project page to the documentation index and directs members to it.
docs/club-project.md Adds member-facing operational, architectural, and contribution guidance consistent with the checked repository configuration and implementations.
