Summary

  • Increase app and DMG ticket stapling/validation from four attempts to ten (nine retries).
  • Keep exponential backoff at 10, 20, and 40 seconds, then cap subsequent delays at 60 seconds (7m10s total retry delay).
  • Preserve immediate failure for non-service errors and retain the final diagnostic when retries are exhausted.
  • Update regression tests and packaging documentation.

The failed macOS arm64 job successfully notarized both artifacts but exhausted its DMG stapling retries after Apple's ticket service repeatedly dropped the connection (stapler exit 68).

Validation

  • Pester 5.9.1: Invoke-Pester -Path .\package\macos\Package.Tests.ps1 -FullNameFilter 'macOS ticket stapling*' — 17 passed, 0 failed.
  • git diff --check passed.

Allow ten stapler attempts with exponential backoff capped at 60 seconds for Apple ticket service failures. Update regression cases and packaging documentation.
