Follow-up from the review of #69 (inline suggestion, non-blocking): the treatment/covariate history bar-notation (\bar{A}_k, \bar{L}_k, \bar{a}_k, \bar{l}_k and variants) recurs 100+ times across the new Part III chapters (19–21 especially) with no corresponding macro in latex-macros/macros.qmd.
macros.qmd already uses single-letter accent prefixes (h for hat: \hE; v for vec: \vX), so a b-for-bar family would fit:

This belongs in the upstream d-morrison/macros repo (vendored here as the latex-macros submodule), not in win directly — naming should follow that repo's own conventions, and \ba/\bl should be checked against any existing definitions there before landing. @d-morrison: please transfer this issue to d-morrison/macros (it's outside this session's repo scope). Once the macros land and the submodule pin is bumped, a mechanical sweep can convert the Part III chapters.
