Follow-up to #42. GET /portfolio/positions now returns only the fields in Kalshi's GetPositions docs. The count is position_fp, a fixed-point string like "10.00"; the legacy position and resting_orders_count fields are gone. #42 fixed the portfolio positions filter, but other places still read the missing fields.

Every position read uses position_fp

Five reads of the legacy field still saw 0 for every row:

Where Symptom
TUI /portfolio positions (index.ts) "No open positions" for an account with open positions
/review (review.ts, 3 reads) No recommendations: every position read as empty
analyze (analyze.ts) An existing holding wasn't recognized, so no HOLD/SELL signal and no sell action
  • netPosition() (src/tools/kalshi/positions.ts) reads position_fp and falls back to position for environments that still send it. All six reads use it, including the one from fix(portfolio): use position_fp when filtering open positions #42.
  • KalshiPosition.position_fp is typed as the string the API sends; position is now an optional legacy field.

Account Summary counts positions from Kalshi

portfolio's Account Summary took Positions: from the local positions table, which records only trades placed through analyze. Every dollar line beside it comes from the live API, so a position opened on kalshi.com showed in Open Exposure but counted as 0.

fetchLiveBankroll() already pages through /portfolio/positions for the exposure. It now also returns openPositions (rows with a non-zero netPosition), which the summary uses.

The positions table above the summary is unchanged: it tracks the bot's own trades, with entry edge and watchdog status.

portfolio positions drops the Orders column

The column showed resting_orders_count ?? 0, but the API no longer sends that field, so it read 0 for every row. The column and the type field are removed; portfolio orders still lists resting orders.

Test plan

  • bun run typecheck && bun test: 571 pass. New tests cover:
    • netPosition (fixed-point string, preference over the legacy field, legacy fallback, missing/garbage values)
    • the live open-position count
    • formatPositions with a row shaped like the docs
  • Against a production account with open positions:
    • kalshi portfolio's Account Summary counts them
    • kalshi portfolio positions and TUI /portfolio positions list them, with no Orders column
    • /review reviews them
    • kalshi analyze <held ticker> shows the position and a HOLD/SELL signal

Merge before #53, whose version bump releases 2.3.3.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Bug Fixes
    • Portfolio views and analysis now recognize fractional position quantities and exclude positions with a net value of zero.
    • Open-position counts now include positions held on the venue, including those opened outside the CLI.
  • Updates
    • The positions table now shows exposure and no longer displays an Orders column or resting-order counts.

GET /portfolio/positions now sends only position_fp, a fixed-point string
("10.00"); the legacy integer position is gone. #42 fixed the CLI's
portfolio positions filter, but five other reads still saw 0 for every
row: the TUI /portfolio positions view, portfolio review (no
recommendations), and analyze, which never saw an existing holding and so
showed no HOLD/SELL signal or sell action.

Route all six reads through netPosition(), which prefers position_fp and
falls back to position. KalshiPosition now types position_fp as the string
the API sends, and position as an optional legacy field.

Walkthrough

The change adds netPosition to parse Kalshi position quantities and updates command position handling to use it. The KalshiPosition type now represents position_fp as a string and makes the legacy position field optional. Tests cover parsing, field precedence, fallback, and zero results.

KalshiPosition now allows an optional legacy integer and an optional fixed-point string. netPosition parses the fixed-point field when present, otherwise uses the legacy field, and returns zero for non-finite values. Tests cover parsing, precedence, fallback, and zero results.

Positions in fractional-contract markets may show rounded sizes and rounded close commands in review and analyze output. Integer-quantity positions are unaffected. Consider preserving the fractional size or documenting the integer-only limit before merging.

portfolio's Account Summary took Positions from the local positions
table, which only records trades placed through analyze, while every
dollar line beside it comes from the live API. A position opened on
kalshi.com showed in Open Exposure but counted as 0. fetchLiveBankroll
already pages through /portfolio/positions for the exposure; it now also
returns openPositions (non-zero netPosition rows), which the summary uses.

The column showed resting_orders_count ?? 0, but GetPositions no longer
sends resting_orders_count (Kalshi's docs list eight fields for a
market position, none of them an order count), so it read 0 for every
row. Remove the column and the field from KalshiPosition. portfolio
orders still lists resting orders.

position_fp counts in 0.01-contract steps, but review and analyze passed
the net position through Math.round: a 0.40 position showed as x0 and a
0.60 position offered to close 1 contract. heldPosition() returns the
side and the exact size, and replaces the three copies of that
computation. analyze's sell action already sends fractional counts
(toV2Count). /sell takes whole contracts only, so review prints a /sell
command for whole sizes and points fractional ones at kalshi analyze.
