Python had 8 STARTER templates, half of them Crawlee crawlers, while JS and TS have 5 each, and no language had an AI or MCP starter.

  • Remove STARTER from python-crawlee-parsel, python-crawlee-playwright and python-crawlee-playwright-camoufox. python-crawlee-beautifulsoup stays as the one Python Crawlee starter, like crawlee-cheerio in JS/TS, and the Playwright/Camoufox templates now match their JS/TS twins.
  • Add STARTER to python-pydanticai (its description already calls it a starting point for any AI agent) and to python-mcp-empty and ts-mcp-empty (empty scaffolds).
  • Remove AUTOMATION from python-playwright and python-selenium. Both only open pages and extract links, with no clicking or form filling, so they're WEB_SCRAPING only, like the JS/TS Crawlee Playwright templates.

Starters after this: Python 7, TS 6, JS 5.
