Issue with support for work and personal profiles on Android 15+

Hello, I’d like to take this opportunity to thank the developer(s) for this wonderful app.

However, unfortunately, I’ve discovered a few minor issues:

1. On my custom (vanilla) Android 15+, both personal and work profiles are enabled. I have quite a few different accounts—email, social media, etc.—but most of these apps have limits on the number of accounts that can be connected per client. Personal and work profiles allow me to bypass this limitation. I also use a persistent WireGuard VPN. A few weeks ago, I discovered that Rethink’s functionality doesn’t extend to other profiles (even with the Android option “Block connections without VPN” enabled). I solved this problem by installing Rethink separately in each profile, but now I have three services running constantly instead of one, which in turn drains the battery faster.

2. The second minor drawback I’ve encountered is that Rethink has trouble reading configuration files imported from the WireGuard app. I have to recreate the config within Rethink itself—only then does the VPN tunnel start working.

Can you attach a sample configuration that didn't work (make sure the private credentials are no longer valid or have expired; but I'll need those intact)? Alternatively, you can email those to me: mz at celzero dot com (please do leave a link to this GitHub issue in the email body).

This is an Android limitation. Forks like LineageOS do have "Global VPN" that apply a single VPN app to all Profiles (Android 5+), Users (Android 4+), and Private Spaces (Android 16+).

How much is the battery drain? Since v055v, we've substantially improved on resource use (resulting in dramatic power-use improvements, in our testing) Rethink shouldn't consume more than 10%. It is ideally between 2% to 4% of total battery use on the main profile (this number should be less in the Work profile). Rethink's battery use (if it isn't due to bugs) is mostly downstream from installed apps and app usage. The more the apps use network, the more packets / connections / DNS queries Rethink has to process.
