• French BIP39 wordlist starts with a UTF-8 BOM, so generated French mnemonics carry U+FEFF and derive a non-canonical seed

• ErgoTree parsing accepts version > 0 headers without the size bit, which the reference rejects (CheckHeaderSizeBit, rule 1012)

• Cthreshold parsing silently truncates k above 255 (256 becomes 0, 300 becomes 44)

• ContextExtension does not enforce the reference's signed-byte limits: >127 values serialize (256 wraps the count to 0), counts/ids 128..=255 parse

• ergoscript-compiler: pretty_error_desc panics on spans starting at offset 0 (and misaligns every other highlight by one)

• ergo-nipopow: max_level_of panics (divide by zero) on a header with zero decoded difficulty

• AutolykosPowScheme::gen_indexes panics when an index is a multiple of N (zero value has no u32 digits)

  ergoplatform/sigma-rust#964 · Filter by author Kshot3000 opened on Oct 10, 2026

• ChildIndex parsing accepts misplaced hardened markers; ChildIndexNormal::next() silently breaks the 31-bit invariant at the bound

• DerivationPath parsing silently drops invalid components, and ExtSecretKey/ExtPubKey derive panics on shorter target paths

  ergoplatform/sigma-rust#960 · Filter by author Kshot3000 opened on Oct 10, 2026

• ergo-nipopow: update_interlinks panics on a header with a negative max level (signed level cast to usize before the positivity check)

• NipopowAlgos::pack_interlinks keys duplicate runs by run ordinal instead of first-occurrence index (and panics on an empty vector)

• ErgoBoxCandidateBuilder::calc_min_box_value panics when size * min_value_per_byte is below the minimum BoxValue

• Parsing a header's votes from JSON panics (or silently truncates) on out-of-byte-range numbers

• NiPoPoW proof with m == 0 hangs proof comparison forever (best_arg loop never terminates)

• Parsing untrusted bytes can abort the process (Scorex/NiPoPoW/reduced-tx paths): u32 prefixes drive huge pre-allocations in Vec<T> scorex_parse, NipopowProof/PoPowHeader, ReducedTransaction
