I have some questions regarding the port configuration for some of the notebooks as am performing sims in CST now. I do not think this needs to be a 2 port simulation with the ground ring around it. The ground ring is not there in reality
2 pin config:
The inductor sim can be reduced to a 1 port sim
Motivation
The 2 port configuration will add additional mutual capacitance in the ports which is eliminated if configured directly. Remember, the reference for these ports is not GND
To confirm, I placed the 2 port differential vs 1 port into a circuit sim after
which gives almost the same s-params, I am guessing the delta is due to the lack of the port parasitics
