This is a fork of anomalyco/opencode maintained for the opencode-dev portable deployment stack. It adds secure-input dialog support for MCP tools, inverts the dev-channel database naming, and fixes opencode attach directory routing. See the fork modifications section below.

Installation Directory

The install script respects the following priority order for the installation path:

1. $OPENCODE_INSTALL_DIR - Custom installation directory
2. $XDG_BIN_DIR - XDG Base Directory Specification compliant path
3. $HOME/bin - Standard user binary directory (if it exists or can be created)
4. $HOME/.opencode/bin - Default fallback

Agents

OpenCode includes two built-in agents you can switch between with the Tab key.

• build - Default, full-access agent for development work
• plan - Read-only agent for analysis and code exploration
  • Denies file edits by default
  • Asks permission before running bash commands
  • Ideal for exploring unfamiliar codebases or planning changes

Also included is a general subagent for complex searches and multistep tasks. This is used internally and can be invoked using @general in messages.

Fork modifications

This fork of anomalyco/opencode adds the following changes not present upstream:

• Secure-input dialog for MCP tools — MCP servers can request secret user input (passwords, passphrases, API keys) via a centered, masked TUI modal without the value ever entering the LLM context. Uses a nested MCP JSON-RPC request (opencode/secure-input) with invocation tokens, an Effect deferred-based service in Core, a TUI modal with bullet-masked input, and generated SDK types. Affects packages/core/src/secure-input.ts, packages/opencode/src/mcp/index.ts, packages/tui/src/component/dialog-secure-input.tsx, and 20 other files.

• Invert channel-DB opt-in (packages/core/src/database/database.ts) — Upstream uses opencode-dev.db for dev builds. This fork always uses opencode.db; opt in to channel naming with OPENCODE_ENABLE_CHANNEL_DB=1.

• Fix opencode attach directory routing (packages/opencode/src/cli/cmd/attach.ts) — When --dir is omitted, the client's process.cwd() is used instead of the server process working directory.

• Session list directory filter (packages/opencode/src/session/session.ts) — Session.list passes the client directory to listByProject when no explicit filter is provided.

• OpenAI chat protocol fix (packages/llm/src/protocols/openai-chat.ts) — Compatibility adjustment for LLM protocol handling.
