I'm a software engineer in Seattle, looking for my next staff backend or platform role. I'm particularly interested in identity and security, developer infrastructure, and AI coding tools.
Most recently, I worked on Codex at OpenAI, including its terminal UI, authentication, and reliability. As a tech lead at Amazon and AWS, I built and operated an OAuth and OpenID Connect service for authentication and authorization between internal services. Earlier, I spent more than a decade consulting on government and enterprise software.
I've also spent a lot of time writing docs, teaching, and helping other engineers adopt the systems I built.
Outside software, I'm into snowboarding and synthesizers.
I maintain Ratatui, a Rust terminal UI library with about 50 million downloads on crates.io, along with several other Rust crates. I design Ratatui APIs, manage releases and deprecations, write documentation, review contributions, and work on related widget crates.
