Every time I'm in a new Claude session and want to add something to a dashboard it has to learn all over again how to add new widgets. It normally tries without an id, fails, then with id: null, fails, then it runs python and or ruby to validate the yaml (because apparently the server responds with "invalid yaml"), then it finally figures out that you have to set id: 0 for new widgets.
An alternative, if we have a schema for these yaml files maybe stmo-cli should validate them before submission and give better instructions to Claude on what to fix.
Hey @Mossop! Thank you for sharing this pain point. stmo-cli already validates schemas and already rejects id: null or missing id. However, it just raises a generic error. #70 improves this by adding
widgets[0].id: missing or null id (use \id: 0` for a new widget).
to the error message. The implementation is not the most generic but it should fix the immediate problem.
