fix(daemon): align Models tab and provider status with runtime credential resolution (AAP-93060) - #136
Conversation
…ion (AAP-93060) Provider cards and the Models tab no longer infer readiness from config metadata alone. listModels returns saved models with availability flags, the wizard blocks false success when keys cannot be resolved, and chat or listing endpoints only expose usable models where appropriate. Relates to https://redhat.atlassian.net/browse/AAP-93060 Relates to #133

…3060) Unit tests for unavailable-model helpers, CLI picker filtering, and HTTP model listing so Sonar new-code coverage meets the quality gate.
Accept chat requests matching configured model_id aliases via resolveEngineModelId, and scope GET /api/providers with the same workspace query as /api/models for aligned dashboard credential status.

LGTM! — this cleanly fixes AAP-93060: provider and model status follow runtime credential resolution instead of config metadata, unusable models stay visible with clear reasons, external listings and chat stay appropriately restricted, and the added tests give me confidence. Good to merge.

Summary
Fixes AAP-93060 / abbenay#133: the dashboard could show Ready and an empty Models tab when provider config referenced credentials the daemon could not resolve at runtime (e.g. env var not set in the daemon process, or missing keychain/file secret).
CoreState):listModels()still returns models from saved config when a key is missing, withavailable: falseand a clearunavailableReason. Chat rejects models not in the provider’s enabled list; missing keys still fail closed as before.GET /api/modelsexposes availability metadata for the dashboard;/v1/modelsand gRPCListModelslist only usable models for external clients.GET /api/providers(configuredfromresolveApiKey()). Models tab shows unavailable rows with reasons; chat uses usable models only. Provider wizard validates credential resolution after save and surfaces env/keychain guidance instead of silent success./api/models//api/providers.Test plan
OPENROUTER_API_KEY(or chosen env var); add OpenRouter with Env Var credential, enable models, Save → provider Key unavailable, models listed as Unavailable with reason, wizard shows credential error (not closed as success-only).GET /api/modelsshowsavailable: true.npm run lintandnpm test --workspace=packages/daemonpass locally.npm test -- --run tests/integration/models-credential-alignment.test.ts tests/integration/http-security.test.tspass.
