ClimaSeaIce 0.6 renames LinearLiquidus's slope field to salinity_slope (CliMA/ClimaSeaIce.jl#183). This PR reads the new name in the three-equation heat flux and requires ClimaSeaIce 0.6 in the root and test environments.

ClimaSeaIce 0.6 also fixes SplitExplicitSolver on distributed grids with Oceananigans 0.114: 0.5.12 fails with UndefVarError: split_explicit_kernel_size on any MPI run. It changes the default liquidus slope from 0.054 to 0.0542 ᵒC / (g kg⁻¹), so sea-ice results change slightly.

Blocked on Terrarium

ClimaSeaIce 0.6 requires Oceananigans 0.114, but Terrarium (in test/Project.toml) caps Oceananigans at 0.113. CI can't resolve the test environment until Terrarium supports 0.114, or until ClimaSeaIce 0.6.0 is registered and Terrarium is bumped.

Tests

With ClimaSeaIce 0.6.0 (main, 38a99e5) and Oceananigans 0.114.1, and Terrarium removed from the test environment, these pass locally on CPU:

  • test_sea_ice_ocean_heat_fluxes (78)
  • test_ocean_sea_ice_model (4)
  • test_sea_ice_lateral_and_basal_stresses (15)

Closing: #424 fixed the liquidus breakage on main (via melting_temperature, which works on ClimaSeaIce 0.5 and 0.6), and main CI is green on ClimaSeaIce 0.6.0. The remaining ClimaSeaIce = "0.6" compat requirement is carried by #809.
