The homepage uses a varied editorial composition: intact arms over the original blue-tinted martlet image, a lead essay, a panoramic 1812 feature, a Judith spread, paired CMNA/MDOR books, a subject index, and an asymmetric personal archive. All six registered projects, eight canonical subjects, four recent Blog posts, and existing destinations remain represented.
The identity continues through the site with left-aligned navy page openings, Cambo headings, cream sections, gold rules, complete book covers, and a readable text measure. The shared header switches to a scrollable menu at narrower widths or tall aspect ratios; dense layouts stack on tall laptop-sized viewports.
Non-blog pages now have layouts suited to their content. About Me has a portrait-led opening and separate credential panels. Teaching pairs institution headings with accessible course disclosures, separates course codes/titles/document counts, arranges syllabus links for scanning, and renders the legacy statistics formula with KaTeX. Books use complete covers beside larger descriptions. Consulting separates capabilities and contact sections. Scholarship emphasizes four selected-work themes and two existing book covers while retaining a text-only bibliography. Long reading pages share a sticky section index that moves above the text on narrow or tall screens.
Software, Honors, Service, and Media have direct section navigation. Writing, Subjects, ancestry controls, and closing subject links use consistent alignment. Book, Golden Bee/Owl, and MDDF styles use shared colors and typography; documentary images retain their full content. Contact, Search, and 404 surfaces use simpler styling. Games, Howard County, and Long Reach reuse their existing header images through the current metadata field.
Service cards use selective local imagery on six of thirteen records: MDDF insignia, the public-domain 1914 Maryland 1812 seal, a CC BY-SA SAR emblem, the public-domain CRC Press text logo, and existing CC BY photographs for Howard County and Columbia Association. Required source, author, license, and cropping notes are visible; new asset provenance is recorded beside the files. Other cards remain text-only.
Content, routes, registries, identity, footer links, cookie consent, Ukraine banner, and seasonal hooks remain. This release includes the complete changes from both prototype branches and supersedes PR #22.
Validation: npm run validate passed, covering source audits, Astro check, production build, route/link/fragment checks, site acceptance, accessibility DOM scans across 51 representative pages (zero violations), and 11 successful search cases. The build contains 2,245 HTML routes with zero build-validation errors or warnings. A comparison across all 116 non-blog pages verified preservation of 1,787 original links, 310 images, and all 17 course disclosure identifiers; all 155 section-index destinations resolve. Targeted checks confirmed two credential panels, all six teaching institutions, rendered statistics math, course disclosure toggling, and the 11 selected scholarly entries and 102 bibliography/grant entries. Existing cookieStart type hints remain.
Rendered layouts and color contrast still require browser review because the cloud browser blocks the local preview; DOM scans do not verify them.
